7 Tips To Getting Out Of Extreme Sadness

Have you ever found yourself feeling so down, so weak internally just feeling like you want to lay in bed all day chilling and doing nothing really. Some times you don’t even want to talk to anyone and you just wish someone could ask you how you are doing, someone you feel completely comfortable with so that you can just pour out your heart to them. But at the same time you don’t want to talk because you know you are going to cry? 

Well we all have times like that and maybe even worse for some could it be because of stress or there is more. 

Let me do the honors of revealing the 5 ways to grow past these feelings and become the sparkling beauty we once were…..

1. Smile 

The first step is really simple smile, yes! you can do it-come on-let’s see your teeth alright-there you go. it’s that simple just smile or better still laugh out loud. laugh at the problems, smile at the challenges don’t sit there and sulk because we both know you’ve already done enough of that now is time for you to grow. You are capable of growing because you are my emperor (or empress) and a king or a queen is a strong person so no more sulking, your kingdom (life) needs you.

If you want to feel bright then you have to look bright so take a good showers, wear the most colorful outfit in your closet put your good shoes on and feel free to look yourself in the mirror and say “I look good so I feel good”. Wear bright colors and wear a bright smile, pick bright flowers on your way out. Everything is bright!

2. Reflect

Ask yourself what do I feel is it anger or pain why I’m I feeling this way? What am I thinking about? Why is this really bothering me so much? And other detailed questions such as: is it something that happened on this day? is it because of what you did or did not do to someone that hurt them? Or worse is it because of what they did to you? Or what you expected them to do and they didn’t do?  Give the most honest answer you can to yourself and if more questions come up still answer them until you are satisfied with the answers. Until you get a complete understanding of what exactly is making you frown or cry.

3. Choose to heal 

 When you know the reason behind your feelings it becomes easier for you to find the solution. To be very honest your solution lies with you in your heart. You have to make the choice to be happy the choice to let go of anger and the choice to smile. Sometimes feeling happy may mean stepping out of your sad zone and doing some fun, crazy  stuff like, dancing to your favorite tune even if no one else is dancing, singing along with everyone even if you don’t know the lyrics and other fun stuff you like. So now please dry your tears and turn that frown upside down.

4. Stand up 

A wise person once said happiness is a journey not a destination so choose to enjoy every moment of your journey instead of waiting for the perfect scenario for happiness. 

You can do this in many ways one way is to stand up and do something you love it must be something that would make you stand up from your bed, interact with good people or see the sunshine. 

It could be something as simple as jogging if you like exercising or dancing to any beat of your choice even if you don’t know how to dance  (I’ll recommend Afro beats) or playing games with friends (not the ones on your device) or better still walking to a beautiful place nearby. When you go on that walk make sure to pick a flower for each color on the rainbow you could even try to make another flower out of two flowers.

Make being happy your lifestyle start by adding the words happy, joy, cheerful and it’s synonyms in to your vocabulary. You may also try listening to lively music ( you know the kind that makes you smile or makes you want to dance). Even though you may not like pictures now, just take pictures even if they are just selfies take them as memories and some day you would be happy you did. Try not to get involved in any bad habits or make any decisions in a rush as these would only harm you in the long run. 

5. Associates 

Friends, family members and who ever you associate yourself with often. May have a huge impact on your thoughts and behavior so associate yourself with people who care about you and give you positive energy and try to avoid those who make you feel bad about yourself or at least don’t allow what they say get to you okay.

6. Believe in yourself 

No matter how many times I may tell you that you are strong and you are an overcomer, it would not make you feel better if you don’t believe me. So, I’m encouraging you to look in the mirror and Tell your self these all the positive things such as “I am strong”, “I am powerful” , “I am worthy”, “ I deserve to be loved” and believe that they are true.

You may choose to write down the quotes where you can easily glance through. You could add a smiley face you your favorite. Next, you could change the wallpaper of your phone to any positive quote you would like to see often.

Remember that you have just one life to live and ask yourself if my life was a fairytale how would I want the next chapter to be? Think of all the good things that can put a smile on your face and do them.

7. Gratitude 

This is just a fancy way of saying count your blessings, people usually get caught up worrying about what is going wrong that the forget to see what has been going right. So make this a part of your daily schedule to consciously appreciate 5 or more( but not less) good things that happened during the day.
