Goals- How To Set And Achieve Them

Have you ever noticed those sharply dressed individuals confidently striding through the office, and wondered how they got there? Maybe you've admired someone doing a job you'd love to do, and keep telling yourself that someday you'll reach that level too. It's a common feeling, no matter what stage of life you're in.

Well, that’s a goal you have set already. The big question is how do you work towards achieving it? To do this, we need understand the definition of a goal.

1.What is a goal?

A goal is an idea of the future that you envision, plan and commit to achieving in order to gain success. Or In simpler words it is something you want and you put your mind to getting. It could also be called a target

I’ll like you to note that: the definition says an idea of the future that you envision or imagine and you plan on committing to.

Meaning that you firstly need to have a clear picture of what you want. Secondly, you need to be willing to put in the needed effort in order to achieve it.

Yes! You need to make goals which would really make you happy and proud of yourself when you accomplish them because it is usually not an easy process.

Surely you already have many goals you want to accomplish( there are some ideas below). So this very moment take a pen and a paper, write down neatly every goal you want to achieve. Then on the other side of the paper, state what you need to do to achieve each one.

A goal could be long term or short term for example if you want to loose weight, that is a long term goal your Short term goal is to workout and eat healthier, that’s what you do daily while waiting for the day you hit your target weight.

2. Goals You Can Set

You can have so many small goals in addition to your big one. Here are some ideas.

1. To cultivate healthy habits

-It could start from as little as making up your bed as soon as you wake up, which keeps your environment and your mind organized.

-Exercising, walking, cycling or dancing

-drinking a smoothie or warm water

-journaling or writing a schedule

-reading a book on a topic of interest to you (money, business, family, cooking)

2. To Learn useful skills

- this could be a skill that you could sell to for money to help you reach your money goals or a hobby

- this may or may not be something related to your academic knowledge. For instance, you could learn to cook or bake.

- Gardening is another thing you can do learn in your free time. Cultivating your own crops is a good way to stay healthy

-you could also learn psychology on how to read the body language of people.

3. To understand yourself, your emotions and your reactions. Also to improve any weak points found.

More words on:

How to be a that girl

4. To understand others around you too

- you could do this by showing love them in simple ways

3. How to achieve your goals

Congratulations! You are one step closer to a achieving your goals. The next step is even easier. In order for you not to just forget about these goals we are going to give ourselves 4 things:

1- Time span

Assuming that you start working on the goal today, write down a reasonable date within this year when you’re supposed to have reached your target. If it’s a very very long term goal like building a house, then the date is for you to check your progress.

2. Discipline

Well, if one of you’re goals was to loose weight then I definitely saw a workout for at least 30 minutes daily on that sheet. I know there would be those days when you don’t feel like working out maybe you’d rather watch a movie or just sleep but it’s in those days when you should remember what made you set the goal in the first place and how much of a loss you would make by just skipping a single day.

3. Motivation

Yes you have to keep giving yourself the positive self talk, tell yourself everything you need to hear, encourage yourself to keep going towards you becoming a winner. When you achieve your goal for the day tell your self “achieved”. The feeling you’ll get is completely irreplaceable.

4. Reward

Yes after all your hard work you must definitely have something to look forward to. It could be anything so long as it doesn’t take you back to square one of your goals.

Now that you know how to set and achieve your goals, the next step is the hard part. To actually apply everything you have learnt. But I trust you my emperor and empress you can do it! you would definitely say “achieved”.

Dear Emperor/Empress

Thank you much much for reading!!
